SINGLE PARENT
INTRODUCTION
Single parenting results from very many different reasons. It might be due to divorce, death of ones spouse or separation. Although the term "single-parent family" is a familiar one, upon careful examination, the precise definition of a single-parent family becomes less clear. Families are frequently (although not exclusively) identified on the basis of shared residential space and the presence of emotional bonds and support relationships among members. "Single parent" implies that a solo mother or father is responsible for the care of one or more children under the age of eighteen within such a family
WHO IS A SINGLE PARENT
Single-parent is a parent who cares for one or more children without the physical assistance of the other parent in the home. This happens for different reasons. It can be as a result of the death of either the man or the woman. There are also cases where unmarried persons can have children and thus become single parent.
LIFE OF A SINGLE PARENT.
The single parent had enjoyed a good relationship with the spouse befor death separated them. He/She now shoulders the responsibility that is meant for both the husband/wife as the case may be, alone. There is no one to share sexual love with.
He/She also suffers great loneliness naturally. He/She may also seam handicapped and sometimes because of his/her social needs the children are neglected. When compared to their peers from traditional two-parent homes, children raised in single-parent homes are at risk for a number of less desirable outcomes. Such outcomes include both lower academic performance and a higher incidence of behavioral problems.
God has provided succor for the single parent; therefore, any parent that is grounded in the word of God will not have problems for what you ever needed in life are wrapped up in the word, so go for the word.
Jesus said in mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

so why don’t you go to Jesus for him to solve our problems. Single parents should look up to jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith .heb 12: 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
The single parent should be stedfast in the lord and ensure that he joins a bible believing and teaching church in other to be part of Gods family and be provoked to doing the good work of God. TROUBLESOM PARTNER.
TROUBLESOM PARTNER.
Introduction
God instituted marriage and expect the couples to live in peace and harmony. Sometimes the carnal nature of man comes into play and this brings about various problems it the home. The wife or the husband can become very problematic. In such a situation how does one cope?
WHO IS A TROUBLESOM PARTNER
A troublesome partner is any married man or woman who is no longer truly committed to his or her marriage vow. Such a partner behaves irrationally as he or she is no longer serious about any thing that has to do with the marriage relationship. Such a one is so very much unstable in all his or her ways. He or she is quarrelsome, hostile, and not interested in the well being of the family.
WHAT MAKES ONE A TROUBLESOME PARTNER?
The foundation of being troublesome rest on the inability of one to understand who one is in Christ Jesus, who has given us the power to be Gods children, and being conscious of this makes any partner to be trouble free. The lack of reading and hearing the word of God daily is also another thing that can make one to become so very much troublesome.
Lack of communication between married couples can cause very serious trouble in the home as it leads to lack of trust. Couples should be able to communicate very freely with each other at any point in time on any topic. If either partner notices any troublesome area he or she should discuss it and promptly pray against it
WHAT IS THE CURE?
Thanks be to the almighty God for his everlasting cure and solution for a troublesome partner in marriage. The word of God contains his promises for every problem in life so that godliness can be maintained. 2pet 1: 3 and 4 says” as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
If the married couples are truly Christians the non-troublesome partner has the spiritual foundation to link up with God. He or she should be very serious to lift up the troublesome partner in prayer and after prayer believe God for the solution. After you have prayed thus exercise your faith and think of only things that are lovely. phi 4: 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.
The sprite of the almighty God that dwells inside of every Christian couple will surely comfort them in times of troubles.
Each partner of a couple should try and identify his or her God given role in other to reduce friction in the home. It is not Gods will for us to be a thorn in the flesh of each other.1cor 7 : 4 -5 says” 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
5 Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control”. Wife and husband beating each other and keeping of late nights is never and will never be the solution. Each partner should pray for each other and learn to exercise a very high level of tolerance. I leave you with the word of God in 1cor 7 :10-16” 10 Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband.
11 But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife.
12 But to the rest I, not the Lord, say: If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is willing to live with him, let him not divorce her.
13 And a woman who has a husband, who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him.
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.
15 But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace.
16 For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?

INFIDELITY
HANDLING MARRIAGE TROUBLES
INFIDELITY.
Introduction
Infidelity (colloquially known as cheating) is a violation of the mutually agreed-upon rules or boundaries of an intimate relationship. In many jurisdictions, it is a crime punishable by death, by stoning or beheading the cheater.
What constitutes a significant-enough breach of such a relationship to be considered infidelity or cheating depends on the nature of the relationship. God is really interested in the family, which is the product of the institution of marriage that he created. Today, seven out of ten marriages face the problem of infidelity,no wonder there is a growing number of single parents.
Types of Infidelity
Each case of infidelity serves a different purpose. Being able to justify the behavior of a spouse and define it will lessen some of the confusion. There are five categories of infidelity:
1. opportunistic infidelity:-example debauchery.
2. obligatory infidelity
3. romantic infidelity
4. conflicted romantic infidelity, and
5. commemorative infidelity
INFIDELITY IN GODS WORD
The word infidelity means not being faithful according to the standard set fort by God in his word, the holy bible. The most common type of infidelity is SEXUAL INFIDELITY OR UN FAITHFULNESS in a marital relationship. Sexual infidelity is sexual activity with someone other than the partner to which one is committed. Sexual infidelity in marriage is called adultery, philandery or an affair, while in other interpersonal relationships it may be called "cheating". A man whose wife has committed adultery is referred to as a cuckold, while a woman whose husband has cheated on her is known as a cuckquean. Sexual love is to be practiced only in Gods ordained type of marriage. all other forms of sexual relation is wrong before God almighty; these include, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism etc.
Homosexual is a great sin before God. in Romans 1:27 the bible says this” Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.”
THE STANDARD OF GOD
God created both male and female for union, helpfulness, procreation, giving birth to children, and sexual fulfillment etc; but, all this are to be fulfilled only in Gods ordained type of marriage i.e. between married Christians who are legally married.if there is no standard in sexual maters there will be chaos in human maters.
God judgers all forms of infidelity .Heb 3: 4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge
This major act of unfaithfulness can only be dealth with by surrendering to JESUS CHRIST.
THE WAY OUT
Man in his nature has the tendency to always commit sin for the heart of man is deceitful and desperately wicked for the dark places of the earth is full of evil, but God in his infinite mercy provided for us the miracle of the new birth which ocours when we wholly yeald our life to Jesus Christ, for the bible says” Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
Isa 43:18-19; 65:17; Ro 8:9; 16:7; Ga 5:6; 6:15; Eph 2:15; Re 21:5
CONCLUSION
The fulfillment of marriage can only come when it is practiced according to Gods ordained way. Married couples must remain faithful to their marital vows and the unmarried should avoid sexual sins.
Reflections.
1 Why is sexual immorality rampant today among Christians?
2 How can married couples relate with the opposite sex?
